Taekwondo shine in Paris 2024 Olympics Games

  From the 7th to 10th August 2024, the Taekwondo shined at the Paris 2024 Olympics as vowed by Dr chungwon Choue the president of World Taekwondo.

It was a spectacular event as planned and expected by the World Taekwondo’s Technical Delegate, Mohamed Shaaban, which he said a year ago in Baku :

” I think it’s a great opportunity for Taekwondo. The location of the Grand Palais is amazing. It’s in the Champs-Élysées in the center of Paris. It will be historic. It will add more glamor to the Taekwondo sport. I think it will be spectacular. ‘’

And he was totally right, Shaaban the youngest ever World Taekwondo Technical Delegate for an Olympic Games and the first from Africa, did an amazing job for transforming this iconic location into an arena for warriors which offers Taekwondo a truly extraordinary venue for its Olympics competitions.

The Paris glass-roofed Grand palais hosted a thousand of fans and all tickets were totally sold out before the start of the competition.

During the four days of competition the atmosphere was great. The spectator stands were stacked. The field of play was visible to all. Every match was exciting. There were a lot of hit and enjoyable moments.

The competition was successfully ended and followed the competition rules in a fair way and it was well monitored and runned smoothly. It was distinct by adding more excitement to the game with a revolutionary ideas by its technical delegate.

The field of play was exceptional, the court light up with a blue or red light depending on who scores points or which coach requests video reply. The latest technologies and equipments were used. The court was surrounded with many cameras to ensure recording all details for Instant video reply. There were big screens in each angle of the venue to reply immediately the instant video reply to all the audience in order to show transparency of referees decisions, and display match results instantly.

The entrance of the players was unique and it was an original idea from Shaaban. Under the charm of the grand palais the players of the match steps to the court by getting off the royal stairs first and then crossing very close to the spectators under a big applause and encouragement of the fans. It was amazing!

 

Even though the summer weather condition in Paris, Shaaban and the Paris 2024 organizing committee solved the problem of the temperature. The climate condition in the grand palais was adapted to not hamper the performance of the athletes and to offer an enjoyable experience to the spectators by covering the glass ceiling with a chic design and providing many huge air conditioners.

The environment outside the venue was great and very entertaining. A lot of volunteers were there. Helping everyone inside or outside the venue.

At the end, The Taekwondo Paris 2024 Olympics games was well distinguished by the outstanding performance of all WT officials, referees, players and volunteers. Thank you for this outstanding event!
